What is FIDO2 ?
FIDO2 (Fast Identity Online 2) is a strong authentication standard developed by the FIDO Alliance. It allows users to log in to online services without using a password, by using authentication devices.
How does it work?
The authentication scheme relies on a challenge–response mechanism. The server sends a challenge to the card, which signs it using its private key. The signed response is then returned to the server, which verifies it. No sensitive data is exchanged during this process.
What services use FIDO2 ?
More and more websites are using FIDO2 : Google, Microsoft, Apple, GitHub…And IAM solutions are also using it : Azure, Okta, Ping Identity…
How do I use the biometric security key ?
Simply use the key like a conventional card, while keeping your finger registered on the sensor. Biometric recognition takes less than 1s
